Other Details to Note

To save our listing, click the heart in the top right corner. The home is located in historic Daniel's Hill and boasts some of the most beautiful views of the James River downtown has to offer. Also situated on the river is a historic iron pipe factory and a railroad. It is fascinating to watch trains go by on occasion and watch the workings of a 24-hour factory below the property, but please note there is a risk for noise. Our family lives upstairs in the main house (heck, our teenage children can be a risk for noise on occasion haha), but we are not bothered by it. We realize it may not be for everyone and some nights just work out to be louder than others. We have insulated the home with a noise-reducing insulation and we provide a white noise sound machine in the bedroom should guests feel they need it. Exterior Camera: We have one security camera on the house pointed at our driveway for your safety. It records per motion-activation & operates 24/7. We can access it via our app. There are NO cameras inside the home.

Accessibility and Availability

Neighborhood

Daniel's Hill is a beautiful, historic neighborhood within walking distance of downtown Lynchburg's shops, restaurants, and events. Just a stones throw away from the house is Point of Honor, the plantation home of Patrick Henry's physician which is now a museum open to tour. Our street ends at an entrance to the Blackwater Creek Trail system, which provides guests miles of paved (and unpaved) walking, hiking and bike trails. In our neighborhood, you'll find some brick-paved roads flanked with historic lamp posts, a bustling community center with a fenced-in park and playground, sidewalks in both directions, and architecturally impressive homes built from the 1820's to the early 1900's. The people in our neighborhood are just as beautiful and diverse as the houses themselves, ranging from residents who have lived in the neighborhood for 50+ years and others who are new to Lynchburg. On the block alone, there are families with young children, single professionals, and elderly couples. It is a "front porch" neighborhood where everyone knows everyone and they watch out for one another. We love this neighborhood and are proud to call it our family's home.

This was a lovely space and we really enjoyed staying here. We were able to walk to local restaurants and the trails nearby had beautiful scenery. We would definitely come back!
