There's so many reasons (read below!) but ultimately, without his achievements, our own family wouldn’t exist. So we've collaborated with black artists and creatives in order to bring this historic home on downtown Lynchburg's MLK Boulevard to our community. Here's a few more reasons: 1. His impact was inspiring in founding our hosting business "All Belong" 2. MLK himself walked this street and even stayed overnight just a few blocks away! 3. The street used to be known as black Main Street and is named after him. 4. Our son is black and that matters. 5. To highlight black excellence 6. To support black-owned businesses 7. To tell the story that hatred doesn’t win 8. To inspire others to dream BIG 9. To educate, inspire, challenge, and build bridges 10. To give financially to local non-profits that fight poverty and racism 11. His message of love, peace, and unity is what we all need to hear right now. 12. To welcome ALL We hope you’ll find the MLK Dream Home a place where you belong.

Other Details to Note

The home is located along a well-traveled street which allows for easy access to anywhere downtown. You can expect to see a rich diversity of people from all economic levels. The sounds of the street might be noisy at times (a lively game of basketball at the park, a loud fire truck, etc.) We provide sound machines and ear plugs in each bedroom, but if these things would impact your stay and cause you to give less than a 5 star review, this home may not be the best fit.

Awesome home in walking distance to many downtown spots and an easy drive to Liberty for a visit (which is what we were doing). Very spacious kitchen, dining and living room. Great linens throughout home. One minor thing to be aware of is one of the rooms backs up to a road which can be noisy at night but nothing a simple white noise on your phone can’t drown out. We’d def stay there again.

This house is so cool. We really enjoyed all of the artwork and the thoughtful design theme in this beautiful historic home. The beds are super comfortable! The kitchen is big and fully stocked. The screened in porch on the second floor is a neat extra space. We loved our stay at The Dream House. There are city noises, but the house is in the city, so there was nothing unexpected there. We walked to the donut shop that’s across the street (delicious!), and went to a nearby bar/restaurant (cool local place). We always felt safe. The blackout curtains and noise machines are such thoughtful extras. Amy has included lots of thoughtful extras throughout the house. Amy was quick to respond to any questions we had. The guidebooks she provided were super helpful! Thanks for a great getaway!
